This is made with 3/4 MDF with a white melamine Your shelf unit comes with 2 fixed shelves and 6 free shelves to place where you choose. This set also comes with the patented Murphy Door Hardware kit, simply choose your pivot side that you want your shelf to hinge from, and install. the valance and the threshold are complete. The tools required are Drill, hack saw, level, plumb bob. This shelf is used for a surface mount application preferably, this shelf will sit into the room roughly 9".
